Written by well respected design and engineering professionals in the CEA industry, this study highlights the importance of a comprehensive evaluation to guide selection of systems for indoor horticulture applications and objectively compares three different climate control systems for a cannabis flowering room. The inquiry looks to answer practical questions on efficiency, installation cost, performance and maintenance cost.
Cannabis cultivation at scale is a relatively new application in the Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning and Dehumidification (HVACD) industry, and several approaches are regularly used within the cannabis space.
This study was a collaborative effort of experts who have designed, installed, and monitored these systems. James Megerson, PE, LEED, Mechanical Engineer and Founder of Anvil Agrinomics, Mike Zartarian, MSEE, Horticulture Process Engineer and Principal of Zartarian Engineering, and Brian D. Anderson, AIA, Founder of cannabis architecture firm Anderson Porter Design, provide an experienced-based perspective to the performance data.
